The Computer Networking & Information Security (CN&IS) program at Champlain College merges the college's Computer Networking and Information Security programs into a single, highly practical program of study. The early courses in the curriculum focus on data and telecommunication networks, systems administration, operating systems, and protocols, providing a solid foundation in the fundamentals of information networks. Aspects of information security are integrated into every course from the very beginning, and then intensely studied in the curriculum's later courses, building upon the fundamentals already learned.
The CN&IS curriculum is a highly practical one, although providing sufficient theoretical background to prepare students for the job market or continued education at the graduate level. Individuals interested in the technical content of the curriculum who are pursuing a B.S. degree in another discipline or who already have a Bachelors degree may be interested in the certificate program.
